GPS Annual Report

We have a great pleasure in presenting the annual day report. This year has been a very eventful one for us. Apart from preparing the children to qualify for purely academic demands, special efforts are been made continuously to enable them to face the challenges of the competitive world. It is the matter of great important to us that the students who passed from our portals should carry forward the values they have inherited, excel in whatever they do and be a role model in the society.

Ghaziabad Public School Senior Secondary was established in 1983, it has established many branches under the guidance of our founder late Shri Chatter Singh Yadav, Founder of educational and social welfare society. All the branches are situated in the NCR. His blessings are always with us. Our efforts in every area from academic to sports to social initiatives have been rewarded with inspiring success.

The annual report showcase the achievements and glorious of our school, undoubtedly, but also makes us think deeply about our shortcoming we have always been committed to create an environment in the school which helps the young minds to blossom and to provide a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of the child’s personality.

We set standards and goals for ourselves and strive to achieve them, be it in the area of academics, sports, discipline, leadership and much more. Each year Ghaziabad Public School holds the annual prize distribution ceremony to honor those student who have made the school proud with their brilliant efforts not only in the academic field but also in the co-curricular areas.

Academics:

“The philosophy of the school classes of one generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next.”

We wish to begin with our performance on the academic front. Achieving academic excellence is at the heart of our Endeavour as educators. Excellence academic is the hall mark of any good institution and class 10^th and 12^th CBSE result of the school prove without any doubt that our students have made us proud.

In Class 12^th, the result was 100% and students performed excellently well Abhishek Koli S/o Mr. Mangat Ram secured 91.5 % in Science stream and Ikra D/o Mr. Kassid Husain secured 90% in Commerce stream.

A number of students in series for more than 90% marks in different subjects in Class 12^th.

In Class 10^th, Prateek Raj S/o Mr. Ram Kumar got 93.6

A number of students in series for more than 90% marks in different subjects in Class 10^th .

Olympiad

“The quality of thinking determines the quality of your mind.” 

Participation in the science, math, English, commerce, Hindi and French Olympiad is itself is the biggest competition where our student competes to outshine others. It infuses a healthy competitive sprit to reward based assessment.

Sports

Sports competitions inculcate the spirit of positive challenges and sportsmanship among the students and prepare them for the life ahead. Sports, games and physical fitness occupy a place of importance in our curriculum. Our students actively participated in different sports competition and won medal, certificates and trophies.

• Sachin Aggarwal S/o Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal of class XII got Intet state school championship Runner up in football. He also got Garhwal cup champion 2018(All India Level)
• Ashish Rai S/o Mr. Dhameshwar Rai got first prize in Cricket tournament.
• Tushar Sharma S/o Mr. hamender got 1^st position in 100 m. race at national level.
• Prithvi S/o got 2^nd prize in State championship Karate in Haridwar.

Student seminar and workshops

To ensure that our students are well equipped with knowledge to face any challenge, we have focused sessions on special topics including disaster management, health & hygiene for girls, carrier counseling, leadership skill and carrier planning and development.

• On 21 October 2018, The social Ettiquettes workshop was conducted by HT Pace.
• On 18 September Health Lecture delivered by Doctor O.P. Singh and Dr. Monika Kesowani on health food habits and abdominal diseases and its prevention.
• On 24 October 2018 Health Lecture delivered by Doctors on Hgiene and health Respiratory diseases and its prevention.Dr. Rajiv Kumar delivered lecture.
• On 22 October 2018, workshop on Independence of Self defence by Discovery Kids.
• On 10 October 2021, Magic Shown by Mr. Gurdeep Singh Babber.
• On 31 October 2022, Puppet Shown to Pre primary classes by Mr. Gurdeep Singh.
• Workshop was conducted for classes Mont-1 to V on Good & Bad touch (POCSO), 2022.
• On 23 October 2022,Career Counseling Programme was conducted by Dr. Rachna Gupta for XII Class.

Professional and Enrichment Programme for teachers

In keeping with the school’s policies on continuous up gradation of knowledge and skills, our teachers attended various workshops and seminars organized by the school and others so as to improve their academic transaction skills and to update their capabilities.

• Two teachers attended workshop at DPS Indirapuram on 30th November 2018. The topic was Positive Thinking.
• One teacher attended a workshop at Genesis Public School Noida on 16th February 2019. Topic was related to computer language Phython.
• On 15 December 2021, Teachers workshop was conducted by HT Pace on Classroom interaction. Resource person was Mr. Lucky Pushrat.
• On 25 August 2022,Teachers workshop was conducted by HT Pace on Task Management. Resource person was Mr. Lucky Pushrat.

“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”

I feel extremely proud to inform you that on 31 October 2018 GPS embarked on a new journey with Colonel T.P. Tyagi along with their team who visited our school to deliver lecture on Ekta Diwas. Our school continues its journey to invite people to create more opportunities to enquire, share, experience and understand the interconnected world we live in.

Self-Defence-Awareness

Creating awareness among our students is the need of the time keeping in mind the safety of our children, a preliminary workshop of self defence for students was organized on 31^st Jan 2019, under the guidance of Mr. Kamal Singh (International Gold Medalist). 

School Magazine

The school magazine “Priya” is a window to the activities of the school. School magazine widens the knowledge and helps in developing the power of writing of the budding writers. It also highlights the success and achievements of the school students.

Picnic and Excursions

“All work and no play, makes jack a dull boy.”

The school has organized one day picnic program for the students. The students of pre primary classes were taken to the city forest, while the students of 3^rd to 8^th were taken to Adventure camp by muddy boots where they carried out a host of activities like zip line, jorbing, rappelling and climbing. The students of senior wing were taken to Adventure Island, Delhi.

Co-curricular activities

To promote the competitive spirit and bring out the talent of the student, they are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities. Competitions like calligraphy, drawing, painting, essay writing, singing, recitation, dance, fancy dress and mimicry were conducted during the course of the year.

Science and Maths Exhibition

The Science and Maths exhibition was held in the month of Feb 2022, the students came forward with new creative ideas and model on topics given separately to every class. Many new concepts regarding designing of future city, new energy concepts etc. were showcased by the students

Vaccination Camap

Ghaziabad public school organized a Covid-19 vaccination camp for its students. It was conducted in collaboration with the Sarvodya Hospital. It was meant for school students aged between 15 to 18 years. The consent form was sent to the students by the school. After receiving their consent, the students were vaccinated. 

Celebration and Function

Our school celebrates some important days to make the students learn about our culture and heritage and to make children aware of the pressing issues concerning the environment of the world. Some of these celebrations are:

*The Earth Day

The eco club of the school organized earth day celebration with slogans do’s and don’t and speech in assembly. Quiz and drawing competition was conducted for different classes. Students took a pledge to protect the environment.

*The World Environment Day

As a part of the environment day celebration awareness campaign was held in the assembly. Senior students took oath to save environment by planting trees and guidelines were provided for various groups of students in our school.

*Investiture Ceremony

The investiture ceremony of our school was on 15^th August, 2018. It is the day when the newly elected leaders are given all their responsibilities. Selection of the school parliament was done on the following criteria-

Co-curricular- 15%

Sports- 15%

Leadership Qualities- 10%

Turnout and Bearing- 10%

An oath of dignity and honour was taken by the newly selected prefix of our school. The school cabinet was lead by our head boy Mr. Bhaskar and head girl Ms. Charul.

*Independence Day and Republic Day

Independence Day was celebrated with atmost patriotism. Students from M1 to 11^th participated in cultural programs.

*Teachers Day

Senior students of the school celebrated teacher’s day, acknowledging the efforts of the teachers and honoured them. The school managing committee felicitated the teachers on this occasion.

*Gandhi Jayanti

All staff and students participated in Swach Bharat Abhiyan by cleaning the school campus to understand the dignity of the labour.

*Children’s Day

On this day motivational and moral videos were shown to students.

*Basant Panchami

On this day Sarasvati Pooja, Vandana was held and prasad was distributed to all in the school.

*Vanmahotsava

Vanmahotsava is celebrated to create enthusiasm among masses for forest conservation & Planting trees. Our school students & teachers planted trees in School Campus.

*NATIONAL UNITY DAY

NATIONAL UNITY DAY Celebrated on 31^ST October. Students from classes IX and XII took Pledge & VI to VIII classes participated in Essay & Speech Competition.

*Inter and Intra School Competition

*Inter school competition was held in debate, quiz, rangoli, science exhibition, fancy dress, show and tell, folk dance and group song. We got 1^st position in    rangoli, 2^nd prize in group dance and 3^rd position in quiz.

*In intra school competition, students participated in Khoj competition held in Indrapuram Public School, Ghaziabad. Utkarsh Chaudhary and Naveen Mishra of class 11^th, commerce got 2^nd position in Street Treat. Krishna Bharadwaj of class 4^th, Manav of 3^rd class and Mayank of class 5^th got 1^st position in Maths Athletics.

*Debate competition was held in Chhabil Das public School. Bhoomika Yadav of class 11^th, Science got conselation prize.

*Shristi and Urja participated in debate competition held in SD Global School.

*Muskan and Vikas participated in Vanijya Mahotsava held in DPSG, Ghaziabad.

Participation in CBSE Activity

3. Save Fuel for Better Environment (PCRA) & participated in painting, essay and quiz on 29^th October,2018
4. Run for unity on 31^st October, 2018 (Birth Anniversary Sardar Valabh Bhai Patel)
5. Participated in CBSE cluster, Vollyball under 19 age.

Achievements 2018-19

All the hard work of the school has been possible with the cooperation of our highly qualified and dedicated faculty. Our thanks to the management committee of the school for their able guidance and encouragement. If I were to put all the events at GPS in a nutshell, we encouraged our child to observe, to explore, to experiment, to probe, to analyze, to confront problems and find the solution, finally develop to the skill essential to face the future.

We would like to conclude our sincere thanks to all the parents and each one of you who have let a supportive hand down through out the years in all our endeavors to produce a confident educated and capable batch of students each year.
